A short video to launch the International Year of Crystallography is now ready and available  on the IYCr2014 web site, thanks to the work of Juanma Garcia-Ruiz, Javier Trueba (MADRID SCIENTIFIC FILMS) and the staff of the IUCr, featuring:

• The first public screening of the video;

• Messages from the UNESCO D.G., Ms Irina Bokova, the President of the IUCr, Professor Gautam R. Desiraju, and Ms Georgina Ferry, science writer, broadcaster, and author of biographies

• A Q&A session, with the participation of Professor Mike Glazer, Emeritus Professor, Jesus College Oxford, UK to answer the questions of the journalists, and Dr Jonathan Agbenyega, IUCr Business Development Manager, as moderator;

• A unique download area providing articles, images, transcripts of messages and other related media material.
